Otedola Bridge Fire: Lagos State Government Calls For The Arrest Of The Tanker Owner As He Is Identified

 The Lagos state government has identified the owner of the tanker whose content spilt on the Otedola bridge three weeks ago, causing the death of hundreds of persons as well as loss of properties. This was made known at Alausa on Tuesday when owners of vehicles burnt in the incident came together for deliberations and possible compensation. The Lagos State Government revealed the truck owner as one Hassan Yusuf Maiwaka of 16, Lemawa Otoro GRA, Kano State. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation, Olufemi Salaam also revealed the vehicle’s plate number as plate NSR888YQ, adding that it was registered in Nasarawa Local Government Area in Kano State on the 24th of April 2017.  Maiwaka, according to Salaam will be brought to Lagos for appropriate prosecution under law. “I will like to inform you that the Lagos State Government has written a letter to the Commissioner of Police in the state to be able to bring this man to Lagos State from Kano, so as to be prosecuted in accordance with the law of the state,” he said.  Photo Credit: Getty
