Niger Delta Militant Groups Reject Withdrawal Of Quit Notice By Arewa Youths

Various Niger Delta militant groups have come together to reject the recent withdrawal of the October 1 quit notice issued to Igbos by Arewa youths. The groups described the move as an attempt to deceive Nigerians, and laughed over the fact that the withdrawal occurred alongside plans by the federal government to re-arrest and prosecute the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

They accused the federal government and security chiefs from the north as being the masterminds behind the quit notice, while restating their call for Hausas and Yorubas to vacate the Niger Delta region before October 1. They further reiterated their request that all oil blocks in the region which were given to a former president, former military heads of state among other personalities, should be returned to the Niger Delta.
