Maline Sommerlath, the wife of Swedish Queen Silvia‘s nephew Patrick Sommerlath, has just proven that royals are after all human and are not immune to fashion fails or wardrobe malfunction. That is exactly what happened to Maline Sommerlath, as she was attending the christening of Adrienne Sommerlath, the new baby daughter of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and husband Christopher O’Neill, when the wardrobe malfunction happened. The ribbon holding her gorgeous green dress up started to fall apart at the hips. Pictures of her clinging to the elegant frock emerged, as she is seen desperately trying to hide the blunder. Other guests desperately tried to form a human shield around her in an effort to protect her from embarrassment. The christening was held at Drottingham Palace Chapel, near Stockholm. Also present were King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia , Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia along with their respective children. Also present were godparents Anouska d’Abo, Coralie Charriol Paul, Nader Panahpour, Gustav Thott, Charlotte Kreuger Cederlund and Natalie Werner – along with officiants Chief Court Chaplain Bishop Johan Dalman and Pastor of the Royal Court Parish Michael Bjerkhagen. The baby, born in March, will be Baptised with water from a spring on the Swedish island of Öland, as per tradition. Her birth was greeted by a 21-gun salute Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, and from saluting stations in Gothenburg, Härnösand, Karlskrona and Boden. Princess Adrienne was the third royal baby to arrive in the space of two weeks, when she was born at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm in the early hours of March 9. The new baby is a sibling for Princess Leonore, four, and Prince Nicolas, two, and is the latest in a spate of royal births.Photo Credit: Getty
