Motorcyclist Dies Over N150 Ticket In Ogun State

A motorcyclist has lost his life over N150 ticket, after being punched by an official of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria on Wednesday.

A man, identified as Ibrahim Raji has been killed as a result of a dispute over the regular N150 Ticket that is being charged to motorcyclist that ply the road. An argument ensued when the official, known as Saheed stopped the deceased cyclist and asked for his ticket. The cyclist then explained to the official that he was a bricklayer going to work and not using the motorcycle for commercial purposes. When the argument became heated, the official then dragged the cyclist from his bike to the side of the road where he gave him a punch, after which the cyclist fell into drainage channel and died. Saheed and other ACOMORAN officials immediately rushed Ibrahim to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, where he was confirmed even before his arrival the hospital.

Eye witnessed report that the ACOMORAN official had a magic ring on his finger which they believed had contributed to the death of the cyclist.
Following this incident, other motorcylclist have staged a protest to ban the collection of tickets to avoid such circumstances. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, saying that the culprit had been arrested and also mentioned that the case will be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
