Kylian Mbappe Favourite To Win 2018 Golden Boy Award

This month, 40 names are left on the list, including last year’s winner and big favourite Kylian Mbappe. The 19-year-old is the standout name among the nominees after lifting the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France and claiming all four domestic trophies with Paris Saint-Germain.
The award is presented to the best U21 player in the world, and was previously won by the likes of Lionel Messi, Isco and Paul Pogba, among others. The current title holder of the award is Kylian Mbappe
Other candidates still on this year’s list include Senegal international Moussa Wague – who joined Barcelona’s B side in the recent transfer window but is yet to make an appearance after picking up an injury – Real Madrid’s Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Junior and Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
Defender Arnold, 19, has established himself in Liverpool’s first team this year and was also part of Gareth Soutgate’s World Cup squad.

Foden, 18, received the Golden Ball at the U17 World Cup with England, and scored his first senior goal for Pep Guardiola’s side in the Carabao Cup win against Oxford United last week.

Everton’s midfielder Tom Davies also makes the list, alongside Manchester United’s summer signing Diogo Dalot and Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard.
The award, established by Italian publication Tuttosport, is given to the best player under the age of 21 in Europe, with the winner being decided by 30 journalists from media outlets across the continent.
Paris Saint-Germain forward and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe, 19, could win the award for the second year running after he received another nomination.
