IPOB Members Rally Against President Buhari At The UN Headquarters

Even as the faceoff between the Federal Government and Igbo separatists has not simmered down, members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) has taken it upon themselves to amass a rally protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari at the United Nations headquarters in New York.Buhari arrived the Big Apple this week to address the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly where he was expected to talk on burning issues on the continent and the world at large. But his trip has been marred by increased secessionist pressures from IPOB members in the United States who seized the opportunity to make their voice heard on the global stage.Their protest comes days after the Nigerian military declared IPOB a terrorist organisation after the launch of Operation python Dance II in the entire south-east region, forcing their leader Nnamdi Kanu to go underground. In a stormy week for IPOB, the south-east governors also announced the proscription of the group, dealing a crippling blow to their fight for independence. Against this backdrop, scores of youths marched to the UN headquarters, waving Biafra flags and singing songs of solidarity in the Igbo language. See the video below:
