The Presidency has ordered security agencies to investigate the invasion of the Senate Chamber on Wednesday, during which the legislative mace was stolen.
Honorable Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement issued in Abuja.
In the statement, the Federal Government confirmed that it received the report of the shocking invasion and forceful seizure of the mace by a group of hoodlums.
The Federal Government however, assured the lawmakers that the matter will be duly investigated. The Nigerian Senate has given the Nigerian police force a 24-hour ultimatum to retrieve the stolen mace.
