Arsene Wenger has confirmed Alex Iwobi’s injury ahead of their Thursday game.
The Super Eagles forward picked up a harmstring injury in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday April 29.
“Alex Iwobi has a hamstring problem,” Wenger confirmed along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and David Ospina’s injuries, adding that “We’ll see how everyone recovers because Thursday will come around very quickly.”
Wenger – who is leaving Arsenal at the end of season – was unable to confirm whether any of the three would be fit for Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg away to Atletico Madrid.
Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr will be expecting Iwobi to be fit to join the Nigerian national team to prepare for the 2018 World Cup as soon as the season is over.
