3 Fashion Trends In 2018 That Has Refused To Go Out Of Style

Some of the cool and trendiest fashion of 2018 are spill-overs of 2017, but there are some making more of a statement than others like the Ankara prints, the cross/sling bags, the Adire shirt, the Nike Starboy line, Brogues/Chelsea boots and more of the loud logos and designer outfits.
Ankara Prints
You step out on a Monday morning at the bus-stop of Ojuelegba, you see a stylish lady walk by; what you would notice is she’s either got a lovely Ankara print shoes on, or her bag also has Ankara prints. The off shoulders made of Ankara is the owanbe thing for the young and stylish ladies for that wedding, be it gowns, blouse, or the famous Yoruba “iro and buba”. Is there an owanbe happening this weekend, girl rock it like it’s your wedding, the shoes, the bag and that Ankara gown.
 Cross Bag/Sling Bag
The cross bag/sling bag isn’t completely new on the social landscape but it’s being seen used by Wizkid, Davido, Olamide in new more fashionable ways and regularly while on stage, in their musical videos, while on Tours to hold certain mobile valuables like phones, jewelleries’, to conceal foreign currencies. These artists have re-enacted this style and made it trendy most especially with the youths, and mid-age socialites.
 Adire shirts
The Adire outfits trended three years ago but it seems to keep going and coming back not just because of Adekunle Gold, but also because of its interesting designs. Corpers use it during their carnivals and the after effect after camp and the memories it carries. The fabrics are distinguished by variety of colours, blurry or with clear colour transitions.  Photo Credit: Getty
